Manuals:
A controllerless Linux- or Windows-only PCI card that contains a DSP (Digital Signal Processer) chip but passes controller functions (AT-Commands etc) to the host-computer's OS. Intel refers to this as "HaM" (Host Accelerated Modem).

This is Intel's replacement for the Ambient-originated MD563X-HaM chipset. Drivers appear to be binary-compatable between the 2 chipsets, meaning that the same driver can be used for either chipset. The main differences appear to be:

  • A new DSP (DQ82536EP)
  • Originated as a V.92 chipset (MD563X-HaM was originated as V.90, although it has had V.92 support added through updated drivers)
