This page is a bit of a puzzle (it shows Windows^®' users how to use More Info to do a diagnostic check on the modem & is the source for the identifier for this modem). Although the modem is definitely an external model (confusingly shown as both this model & the StarShip below), ati4 suggests that DIS have re-badged an Origo internal modem. I'm not going to even try to make sense of this, other than to suggest that you may be able to find flash upgrades from Origo. Try either:
Origo FM-56PC-RW Internal, or
Origo FM-56SA-RW External
Both are 1 MB ROMs - use at your own risk.

Notes: Linux & Windows 2000 drivers originally available for this modem have been removed. There's a question-mark over the chipset used. This model was originally described as using the Cirrus Logic CL-MD5620DT PCI Controllerless chipset - now discontinued - and then later with the Ambient MD566X using a CL-MD5660AM-S101. This chipset is an ISA model, but the photo (now removed) was of a PCI device. DIS clearly wrongly identified the modem. The Heavy Metal II is an Ambient MD563X-HaM. God knows what this one is.
