17 Mar 99 Thanks to Geoff Coope for reporting that the Mod Tech 1.47 flash update failed on the second file at 100% with a '-999' error, leaving him with a dead modem. Geoff considers that the early version [over 1 year] of his pre-flash firmware may be a factor in this. The chipset comes in a 1 or 2 MB ROM, with internal and external versions, and voice options. BEWARE! as the correct version & type of flash is required. Check first whether this is an Askey modem.
